National policy has been instrumental in the improvement of our blue spaces.
Culture directly related to information and ability for BS activities encapsulates the physical and psychological connection to our Blue Spaces
“Capability and teaching” combines two themes. An increased number of professional instructors for Blue Space activities (e.g. open-water swimming), improves capability. Time and motivation are shown as important contributors to ability. A lack of teachers may result in a loss of swimming culture in our communities.
When “National policy” is in place and properly implemented, it augments “Capability and teaching”, which entails “self-motivation” and increases “time allocated to learning” how to perform these activities. The latter two factors lead to improved ability, thus closing this reinforcing Loop.
